Construction of the Großschwert of the Elden Ring
Anyone interested in getting into this Elden Ring Best Greatsword build should probably check out ourThe best starter class guidefor help on what works best for them, but my personal recommendation is thistramp.
The class starts with high power, strength andability, all of which are required for this build. Specifically, we won't be touching the ability stats anymore, since it should be right where we want to use our weapon of choice, but we will be putting a lot more points into power, toughness, and more.Fortaleza.
Specifically, we want to make sure we're leveling up enough and getting our base power to at least 21, but the ideal level is 31 or higher.
That's because the broadsword of this build in question is athe colossal weaponwhich requires 31 strength to wield with one hand, but you can also use it with two hands of 21 spikes. For those who don't know, two handswaffenallows you to increase your strength by 50%, avoiding the high requirements of some of the biggest weapons in the game.
Well, whichever way you choose, with your own crew.antique ringGreatsword Build, this article has you covered anyway. Fair warning, this one is greatbuild melee.

Now let's talk in a little more detail about all the equipment needed for this build, keeping a beginner character in mind. Once again, this guide is primarily for new players, so everyoneArticleThe ones mentioned below can be acquired relatively early in the game. And none of these articles contain anyincantations or magic.
When you get stronger and acquire some of theThe best melee weapons in the game., you can replace any element you want. However, I do think that the greatsword we especially mentioned is useful throughout the game, and you can keep leveling it up and keeping it useful indefinitely. Finally, the construction is given the specific name of the weapon.
An interesting read: The best katanas
You may have seen the title of this guide and assumed we were talking about big swords in general, but that's not the case here. For the purposes of this Elden Ring Greatsword build, we are specifically talking about the weapon simply called the “Greatsword”.
This is the weapon that has become a player favorite, both for its skill and speed.armor, and what does it refer to?
As the item's appearance and description indicate, the sword is a reference to Kentaro Miura's legendary manga Berserk, in which the main character Guts wields a weapon that closely resembles the greatsword. Elden Ring Game director Hidetaka Miyazaki has also previously credited Berserk as a major influence on his work.

Again, the weapon is classified as a colossal sword, so it's heavy and its moveset is one of the slowest in the game. Wielding the weapon, even for a simple attack, takes a long time. Some other skill based weapons like thismeteorite ore blade, they have heavy charge attacks that have shorter animations than a normal greatsword light attack.
But in return, each attack deals a massive amount of damage and you can surprise most enemies and bosses with one or two charged hits at the most. The attacks also have a wide enough arc that you can easily catch multiple enemies at once.
However, the weapon does not have passive effects like some of thebest weapons, but you don't need it either.
This weapon stands alone with great destructive power, and that's enough to get your own Elden Ring Best Greatsword build.
At a basic level, the longsword does a good 164 damage with no upgrades or affinities. And once upgraded to max +25, that stat increases to a whopping 401 damage. Right now, this is the highest physical damage of any weapon in the entire game.

Also, the higher your Strength score, the Greater Sword does more and more damage. With no affinities or buffs applied, the weapon has a C on the power scale, which is pretty decent to start with. However, if you upgrade the weapon to +8 and apply one of yourashes of warfor him and change your affinity to Heavy, this scaling increases to B.
More of computers:Dectus-Medallion
Now, B is an incredibly decent rating for power scaling as far as this Elden Ring Greatsword build goes, and your weapon should easily deal over 350 damage per hit if you have at least 31 power. But stick with the weapon and keep upgrading it to at least +20 and that scale will change to A.
Keep investing in Strength as well, and you should be doing 500 - 550 damage per hit easily at this point. They will cut the bosses as if they were paper.
The Greatsword Seal (Cut) ability is also an extremely useful Ash of War that has two distinct uses. The first of these is Seal, which allows players to brace for impact and take a stance that negates the recoil from most attacks.
Using this against enemies like heavy-hitting giants allows you to attack like a champ and then follow up with the bar up. This is a devastating upward strike that can hit most normal enemies and deal incredible stance damage to bosses and the like. So while it's a risky ability, it's always worth it if you use it successfully.
Players can find the greatsword in a caravan chest northwest of the Caelem Ruins shrine in Caelid. The entire region is a death trap for new players, but believe me, acquiring this weapon is much easier than finding the location of the leagues.Moonlight Greatsword.
Broadsword Construction Armors
Armor is a tricky thing to talk about in the Elden Ring Greatsword Build, and that's mostly down to the weight of your gear. You see, the greatsword is already one of the heaviest weapons in the entire game, and it's also enough to get you into medium overload even when equipped. Combine some more armor on top and you are instantly Heavy Loaded. Do you see the problem?

On one hand, this is acceptable to many players trying to take advantage of the lock.shieldsinstead of dodge rolls. On the other hand, the enemies in this game hit hard and sometimes you have no choice but to dodge their attacks. So when you have a heavy load, that rocking motion becomes very slow and ineffective.
This is where resistance comes in, and it's something we haven't covered before. This stat increases your character's stamina as well as the maximum weight it can carry before being weighed down.
So as you get more points, you can run more, attack and dodge more often, and even have heavier gear equipped.
Using this means you can technically equip the longsword alongside some of the heaviest armor in the game and still dodge effectively. The problem, however, is that you have to invest a lot of points in stamina for this to work. And that's where you remove the runes from your other stats. Keep in mind that this Elden Ring greatsword build focuses primarily on strength.
So you have two options at this point. You can cap the stamina and invest in a really light armor set and equip it along with the greatsword. This allows him to dodge efficiently, but at the cost of severely reduced defense.
If you have absolutely nothing invested in Endurance, you could even remove the armor entirely if you wanted, and that would still work. But one or two powerful hits will definitely be enough to kill him, so to be honest, being light on your feet and timing your dodge plays is key.
Your other option isfarm runesand upgrade the stamina until the equipment weight allowance is high enough to carry the weapon and reasonably decent armor.
This is the recommended course of action because while dodging is great, sometimes you will land a hit, especially with a weapon as slow as the greatsword. You just want to make sure you don't drop dead when that happens.
Well, as far as an armor set goes, you can choose whatever you want, there is no specific one that we recommend for the Greatsword Build.
The Drifter armor set is good enough for the first 10 hours, but after that you might want to pick up the Knight set after victory.GodrickThe grafted. After this point, choose the one that best suits your needs.
Talismans to make great swords
There are manyTalisman in Elden Ring, but we've picked a few that can make or break your character. As part of this Elden Ring greatsword build, we'll go over a few of them and explain their meaning and usage.
First up is the Arsenal Talisman, which is an extremely useful item for this build, as it increases your maximum gear load by 15%. This allows players to get the small advantage they need to have decent armor alongside the extremely heavy greatsword.
This can make the difference between being able to dodge a dodge roll and not being able to. Starscourage Heirloom is also an excellent talisman for STR focused builds.
You can get this talisman by talking to an NPC called Nepheli Loux, who can be found in a room right before the Godrick The Grafted boss fight in Stormveil Castle.
After exhausting her dialogue and defeating the boss, you can find her at the round table holding the firstherreroIt's located. Talk to her here and she will reward you with the Armory Spell.
The second item on this list is the Ax Talisman, which can be found very early in the Mistwood Ruins in East Limgrave. This increases the damage dealt by your attack attacks, increasing the total damage dealt by your character by 10%.
This allows players to supplement their already powerful attacks, depleting health and surprising enemies more quickly. It is quite a simple but effective talisman.
And finally we have themkillerof the crimson dagger This is one talisman that won't be exclusive to the Elden Ring Greatsword Build, and for good reason. Since it restores health on critical hits, the greatsword can stun enemies more efficiently than many other weapons.
This allows you to chain somersaults and critical hits together and ensure that your health always replenishes.
Elden Ring Espada Grande Bautipps
During the first 10 hours of the game, your character will be extremely weak, and one or two hits from a strong enemy will be enough to kill him. And as someone playing an Elden Ring greatsword build, your armor situation is probably uncertain as well. But this is the path you have chosen and now you must take it.
Colossal Swordsmen cannot invade the edges of a group of enemies, they need to get in close to be even more effective. You must find opportunities whenever you can and approach them with confidence and a ready weapon.
You go in, pack a big hit, and try to take out as many enemies as possible in a single arc. Analyze the situation and if you take a few more hits, take them.
But know when to back off and when to keep up the pressure, because even the most heavily armed character can easily come under attack in the Elden Ring.
His weapon has an extremely slow moveset and can take some time to launch attacks. If a small group of enemies falls on you at once, you won't even be able to defend yourself. Depending on the speed of your dodge roll, your escape routes may also be limited.
Remember his ability Stamp (Upward Cut). The first part allows you to nullify the knockback you receive from attacks, which is an extremely effective way to keep your balance in the heat of battle.
You can even use the up slash to take out one or two enemies with one hit if you find the attack window.
If you've invested a few points in stamina, a shield can be a killer combination with a greatsword. You swing your sword and immediately raise your shield to defend yourself. Repeat this process as many times as necessary. This Elden Ring greatsword build is primarily intended as atwo handed style, but that doesn't mean you can't use a shield if you want to.
But make a decision, and make it early. You're forgoing dodge rolls in favor of shields and heavy armor, investing in toughness. Or you can forgo damage denial to prioritize higher damage and dodge by investing force.
You can choose both together at the end of the game if you're above level 70, but at first you'll have to stick with one or the other. Take your pick.
